It features bright green plumage with a distinctive yellow bill, white forehead, and a blue crown with red wing speculum. Known for its playful, intelligent, and vocal nature, this species is a good talker and makes a lively companion. Due to habitat loss and the pet trade, it is listed as Vulnerable in the wild.

Plumage & Features

The Yellow-billed Amazon is predominantly bright green with a yellow bill, white forehead, and blue crown. It has a red wing speculum and a red tail band with blue and green edges. The combination of the yellow bill and white forehead is a key identifying feature.

Juveniles have a duller bill and less white on the forehead. This species is known for being vocal and is a good talker when well socialised.
