Plumage & Features
The Blue-fronted Amazon is predominantly bright green with a distinctive blue forehead and crown, a bright yellow face, and a red wing speculum. The tail has a broad red band with blue and green edges. The beak is horn-coloured with a dark tip.
Juveniles have less blue on the forehead and duller overall coloration. This species is highly vocal and is considered one of the best talkers among Amazon parrots, often learning dozens of words and phrases clearly.
