Isabelle

My beautiful Isabelle was the sweetest soul I’ve ever known. She greeted me every single day with her happy little “Haai!” — leg kicked up in the air like she was waving hello. She’d also call out “Dag, pipi!” when she was asleep and woke up or saw me in the most soft whispering voice, and when she was ready for bed she’d softly say “Slaapie slaapie” while climbing under the covers with me.

At night she loved curling up against my chest under the bedsheets, snoring louder than anyone I knew — tiny, contented little snores that always made me smile. She was so gentle and affectionate that everyone who met her fell in love with her instantly. Even the vets were amazed by how sweet and trusting she was. She really was one in a million. I miss you.
